You Plug in Your Phone. When Will You Plug into You?
I used to think self-love was something you earn after you've ticked all the boxes.
Work done.
Family happy.
Tasks checked.
Then maybe… maybe… I could take a break. Maybe book a spa day. Maybe rest.
But here’s what I’ve learned (the hard way):
Self-love isn’t a luxury. It’s a daily charge.
Like how we plug in our phones — 100%, twice, even thrice a day.
We guard our devices from low battery.
But what about us?
Somewhere in the noise, I realized:
I was running on empty — performing, giving, showing up…
but not checking in.
And when I finally paused — not to fix, not to improve, but to feel — I met a version of me I had almost forgotten.
The one that breathes slower. Smiles softer. Hears whispers. Knows when enough is enough.
That’s the power of plugging in.
Of realignment.
Of choosing presence over performance.
🔌 A Little Practice That Helped Me Reconnect:
PLUG:
Pause (just 2 minutes of silence)
Listen (what’s bubbling beneath?)
Unplug from noise — phone, scrolling, expectations
Ground in one loving truth: You are allowed to just be.
📿 A Quote That Changed Me:
"Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes — including you."
— Anne Lamott
🌀 A Question That Keeps Me Honest:
If I gave myself even half the care I give my phone… would I still be exhausted?
💫 If this resonates…
